When it comes to choosing a material for the equipment in your bathroom or toilet there can be a lot of confusion over which material is best. There are numerous factors to consider when deciding what material is the right one for you. Cost, durability, style and hygiene are just a few examples which can play a major part in the decision process.
One of the most popular material options available today is stainless steel. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron with a minimum of 10.5% Chromium. The Chromium produces a thin layer of oxide on the surface of the steel which prevents any further corrosion happening to the surface. This makes the steel less susceptible to staining, giving the ‘stainless’ effect.
The stainless steel used for NYMAS products is grade 304 stainless steel. The properties of this steel such as being low in electrical and thermal conduction make it great to use for installations in a washroom. Along with these properties 304 stainless steel has an excellent corrosion resistance. This means that in wet environments the steel will stay rust-free and maintain its overall finish.
The durability of 304 stainless steel makes it very easy to sanitise, therefore making it an ideal candidate to be used in high use environments and within the health industry. It is also excellent value and the end finish means the material will complement the style of the whole washroom.
The stainless steel option would be an excellent choice for any washroom project and can be found throughout all three of our core ranges. However, other options are available. To view our full product offering click here.
